Test Equipment Solutions - Refurbishment Process
Our 33 step refurbishment process is unrivalled in the test & measurement industry and has been designed to ensure that all equipment looks and works as good as new.
Phase 1: Initial Inspection

1.Verify instrument serial number.

2.Verify instrument hardware and software options.

Phase 2: Electrical Safety Tests

3.Verify voltage and fuse settings prior to switch-on.

4.Perform electrical safety test.

Phase 3: Interior Refurbishment
-
5.Remove instrument covers.
-
6.Clean interior to remove dust etc.
-
7.Check and clean all fans and ventilation holes/filters. Fit replacement filters where necessary.

8.Check all interior sub-assemblies, cables and connectors etc. for damage or wear and replaced/repaired where necessary.

9.Check security of sub-assemblies and circuit boards. This includes re-seating boards and cleaning edge connectors where necessary.

10.Verify CRT/LCD display performance to ensure longevity.

11.Clear internal memory.
-
12.Test internal memory backup battery and replace where necessary.
-
13.Re-fit instrument covers.

Phase 4: Exterior Refurbishment
-
14.Remove all non-instrument labels.
-
15.Check all switches, connectors, keys, buttons etc. (Faulty or damaged items are replaced as a matter of course).

16.Check bezels, panels, handles and other hardware (Faulty or damaged items are replaced as a matter of course).

17.Thoroughly clean all instrument panels/covers.

Phase 5: Performance Verification

18.Check equipment CE status.
-
19.Check instrument software/firmware versions. Where possible, update to the newest appropriate level.

20.Perform self test.
-
21.Verify current calibration status and calibrate to required standard, if necessary.

22.Test equipment to ensure that it meets the original manufacturer specification.
-
23.Test all accessories that are being supplied.
-
24.'Soak Test' equipment for a minimum of 1 hour.

25.Set language, date and time for the customer's destination country.
-
26.Set correct voltage, fuse and supply power cord for destination country.

Phase 6: Quality Assurance

27.Affix calibration integrity seals and electrical safety labels.
-
28.Fit protective covers to connectors.
-
29.Produce calibration and/or conformity certificates as appropriate.
-
30.Produce warranty certificate.
-
31.Prepare and supply accessories.

Phase 7: Final QA and Despatch

32.Final QA inspection and approval.
-
33.Pack instrument, accessories and documentation securely using custom-made boxes and 'Instapak' expanding foam.
